Personal
Care includes 70 studio
and one-bedroom apartments, 40 of which are recent additions.
Each apartment has wall-to-wall carpet, sheer draperies on all
windows, and a full private bath. Special features include individually controlled
thermostats, sound conditioning between apartments, pre-wiring for telephone and cable
television, and spacious closets. Safety features include centrally-monitored
emergency call, smoke detector, and sprinkler systems.
The quality of Personal Care, however, goes beyond the gracious
apartments. An elegant Dining Room, a casual Café, and a Private Dining Room offer
food, beverages, and ambiance that rivals the offerings of other fine restaurants.
The greenhouse, Rev. Thomas Reinsel Lounge, cozy sunrooms,
and Residents' Computer Center offer opportunities for residents to pursue their
individual interests.
The Residents' Computer Center has a computer that is available exclusively for residents' use. The computer has Internet
access, as well as games, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation
programs. As a result, several residents have established free Internet e-mail
accounts and enjoy using the Internet to communicate with their family and friends.
Residents can also enjoy walks in the gaslight courtyard and the secure
walking path.
Personal Care at The Highlands at Wyomissing is designed to be both
gracious and comfortable. It is truly a home and neighborhood of which residents can
