Absence From Work

Upon employment. Leave of absences may be granted for a maximum of 6 months which includes PTO and IPA time.
Child Development Center, The Reading Hospital & Medical Center

Upon employment. Staff members are permitted to utilize the services of the CDC. Space is limited depending on the enrollment status.
College Savings Plan (TAP 529)

Upon employment. Staff members can save for college for children & grandchildren or themselves. Available through payroll deduction.
Credit Union

Upon employment. Checking & savings accounts, mortgages, home equity loans, automobile loans, credit cards, etc., are all available through payroll deduction.  Must complete Credit Union Membership Application.
Dental Insurance

Scheduled 48 hours or more per bi-weekly pay period.

Upon 1st of following month. Eligible staff members may purchase individual or family coverage at group rates through payroll deduction.
Direct Deposit

Upon employment. Staff members can have their paycheck deposited directly into a bank account.
Educational Assistance Program

Scheduled 32 hours or more per bi-weekly pay period.

After 6 months of employment. Maximum of $1,000 per year.  Must have advance approval and the course(s) must be related to staff member's current position.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Upon employment. 3 visits to the EAP annually for family to identify and resolve personal concerns at no charge. Continued treatments are available with the fee determined by the income and number of dependents.
Eye Coverage

X

Provided with Berkshire Health Plan coverage. Free eye exams every 2 years.  Free glasses or contacts for staff members.  Family coverage can be purchased for glasses/contacts.
Fitness Center at The Highlands

Upon employment. Staff members and one guest over the age of 18 may utilize the Fitness Center at the set fee.
Funeral Leave

X

Scheduled 32 hours or more per bi-weekly pay period.

Full-Time staff members, upon employment; Part-Time staff members, after one year. At staff member request, employee (F/T) may be granted up to five (5) days upon death of parent, spouse, children; and three (3) days upon death of a brother, sister, mother/father-in-law. Grandparents one (1) day. Part-Time staff members receive one (1) day for immediate family members.
