bulletThe Pennsylvania Association of Non-Profit Homes for the Aging (PANPHA), founded in 1963, represents more than 360 nonprofit, private, fraternal, religious, and government sponsored nursing homes, retirement communities, personal care and independent housing facilities, and community service providers.  The Highlands at Wyomissing is a member of the PANPHA.

Regulatory Agencies

bulletThe Pennsylvania Department of Health is responsible for planning and coordinating health resources throughout the Commonwealth. It licenses and regulates a variety of health facilities, such as hospitals, nursing homes, ambulatory surgical facilities, and other in-patient and out-patient facilities.  This governmental agency regulates Nursing at The Highlands at Wyomissing.
bulletThe Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare provides basic needs including cash, food, shelter, health care, heat, and job-finding assistance for individuals and families.   The Department also provides treatment, care, and support services in state-operated facilities and in the community for people with mental illness and mental retardation.  This governmental agency regulates Assisted Living at The Highlands at Wyomissing.
